What makes a towing company in Rahway a company, and not a phone number with a nice logo
Towing Company Rahway NJ is a NJ towing services provider that keeps its own flatbeds and wheel-lifts in a Linden yard eight minutes from Rahway station, pays its own drivers, staffs its own dispatch line and holds its own license and insurance, which is a different thing from a website that forwards your call to whichever truck answers.
Type towing company Rahway NJ into a phone and a good share of what comes back owns no truck at all. The page takes your call, sells it, and the truck that arrives belongs to somebody you have never heard of.
This site exists to give the honest version of that answer. Our trucks are parked in Linden, our drivers start their shifts there, and (908) 666-3168 rings on a desk where every one of those trucks is visible on a map. If you would rather not talk, book online and pay $129 instead of $149.
Eight minutes up St. Georges Avenue, not a call center two states away
The yard is in Linden, the town directly north. St. Georges Avenue or Route 1 puts a truck at Rahway station in about eight minutes, and most days one is already somewhere between Merck and the Route 1 lights when a Rahway call comes in.
Drivers who load cars in Rahway every week
A brokered truck may never have backed down Irving Street on a Saturday night or found the right gate on the Merck campus. Our drivers have, recently. They know the parking deck by the station, the turn-in at the Route 1 truck stops, and which Westfield Avenue driveways slope toward the street.
A license and a policy with our name on them
The company is licensed to tow in New Jersey and insured for the vehicles it carries. Your car is photographed twice by the driver, once as it is winched up and once as it rolls off at the other end. That paper trail is what lets us answer a question about your car a month later instead of pretending we never met you.
One fee because there is one fleet
A middleman's price depends on which truck it found and what that truck decided to charge. Ours is printed: $149 by phone, $129 online, mileage read to you before dispatch. The driver at the curb in Rahway has no second number to add.
Want proof we are real? Ask the dispatcher where the yard is and which driver is coming. The answer does not change with the hour.
Call (908) 666-3168Where our trucks work in RahwayHow Towing Company Rahway NJ turns a phone call into a truck on Main Street
A call from Rahway reaches a company dispatcher, who assigns a named company truck from a live fleet map, and a company driver who photographs the vehicle, delivers it where you said and hands you a receipt that goes into the company's own file the same day.
Between your dead car and your receipt there are three people, and all three are paid by the same company. A lead site cannot write that sentence, so it writes about being fast and friendly instead.
Here is the path a Rahway call takes, whether it starts at the station, on East Lincoln Avenue, at a Route 1 truck stop or in a driveway off Milton Avenue.
The dispatcher and the fleet map
She needs the location, the make, the symptom and the destination, in that order. While you answer she is looking at a map with every company truck on it and picks the closest one that fits the job.
The price comes off the fleet's single list and is read to you as a total before anything is assigned. If the problem sounds like a battery or a tire, she sends that fix instead of a tow.
The driver and the job sheet
He receives the same notes the dispatcher typed, so you are not explaining the car twice. A few minutes out he rings you, and he rings the office if the car on the ground does not match the sheet, before the camera comes out and the winch goes on.
At the shop or the driveway he photographs the car again and gives you an itemized receipt with our name and the number you called. Riding in the cab costs nothing.
The office and the file
Photos, the signed receipt and the driver's notes go into the job file. An account customer, a body shop on St. Georges Avenue or a fleet on Route 1, sees the job on the monthly invoice instead of a card charge.
Weeks later, when an insurer, a roadside plan or you ring about that tow, the file is opened and the question is answered. A license and a policy are worth something only when a company keeps records like that and can be held to them.
Shopping between towing companies in Rahway? Put the same three questions to each: whose truck is it, whose employee is driving it, and whose name will be at the top of the receipt. Any answer of somebody else means you have found a referral service, not a company.
Three people, one company, one phone number. That is who picks up when you call from Rahway.
Call the dispatcherEmergency towing in Rahway from a company that does not have to go looking for a truck
When you are in a live lane on Route 1, stalled at the Central Avenue crossing, crashed at a St. Georges Avenue light or blocking the entrance to the Merck campus, our dispatcher confirms you are safe, assigns the nearest company truck while you are still talking, and the $149 booking fee is no different from what a quiet weekday afternoon would cost.
An emergency is where the broker model falls apart. While a middleman rings around Union County for a truck that will take the job, you are standing beside a car on Route 1 with tractor-trailers passing.
Our dispatcher rings nobody. She reads the map, names the truck, and tells you where to stand until it gets there.
Collision on Route 1, at the Lawrence Street light or on St. Georges Avenue
Rahway's crash ground is Route 1 between the Linden line and the Avenel line, plus the lights at Lawrence Street, East Hazelwood Avenue and New Brunswick Avenue. Call us before a rotation truck is waved in and your car goes to the body shop you choose rather than a yard that meters it by the day. Our driver photographs the damage for the adjuster.
Dead in a lane downtown or at the railroad underpass
Irving Street, Main Street and the blocks by the station have parked cars on both sides and nowhere to be stopped in the lane. If the car still rolls, get it to a curb, a lot entrance or a side street. If it will not, hazards on, wait on the sidewalk, and the truck comes in with its light bar on and holds the lane for you.
Water along the Rahway River, ice on the Westfield Avenue hills
The low streets near the river and Rahway River Park pool after heavy rain. A car that has sat in flood water rides a flatbed and nobody turns the key, because a wet engine that is cranked becomes a dead engine. The first freeze turns the gentle grades off Westfield and Milton Avenues into slide-offs, and those are a winch job before they are a tow.
A truck dead at a Route 1 loading dock, a van across a Merck gate
A box truck that will not move at a Lawrence Street dock is an emergency for the whole yard behind it. So is a contractor's van dead in the lane at an East Lincoln Avenue gate. We clear the vehicle first and settle the destination once the lane is open; fleet accounts go straight to their account manager.
Say emergency and the closest company truck is assigned before the call ends. The fee stays where it is.
Emergency dispatchThe four stepsEverything our towing company handles in Rahway, on trucks we own
Out of one Linden yard come the everyday tows and the emergency ones, flatbeds and wheel-lifts, crash recovery, fleet work on medium and heavy-duty trucks, long hauls, motorcycles, winch-outs, and the four roadside jobs that usually mean no tow at all: a jump, a tire, a lockout, a can of fuel.
Local towing
Out of a Milton Avenue driveway and into a St. Georges Avenue garage, between two dealer lots on Route 1, from the station deck to your mechanic. Booking fee plus a few miles, now or on a scheduled day.
Emergency towing
Live lane, collision, flood water, a dock blocked on Lawrence Street. The nearest company truck is assigned during the call, at the same flat booking fee as any other hour.
Flatbed towing
AWD, EVs, luxury cars, lowered cars, motorcycles and anything that has just been in a crash. Four wheels up on the bed, tire straps on each corner, loaded by someone who did the same thing yesterday.
Accident towing
Winched off the scene, every dent photographed for your adjuster, dropped at whichever body shop you choose. Our company, our driver, our receipt, not the rotation yard's.
Fleet and commercial
Box trucks, sprinters, contractor vans and pool cars around Merck, Lawrence Street and Route 1. A named account manager and one invoice a month.
Jump, tire, lockout, fuel
A single flat amount for each, with no miles attached, handled by the same company drivers. The station deck, the UCPAC lots on a show night, the shopping plazas on St. Georges Avenue.
Winch out and recovery
Two wheels in the mud by Rahway River Park, nosed into a snowbank off Inman Avenue, sideways in a flooded street near the river. Back on pavement, and if it drives away that is the whole bill.
Long distance towing
Rahway to the shore, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Philadelphia or a buyer in another state. One company flatbed, one quoted figure with tolls inside it.
The big jobs have longer pages: emergency towing, flatbed towing, accident towing, heavy duty towing and roadside assistance. You do not need to pick the right one. Tell the dispatcher what happened and she picks the truck.
Not sure whether it needs a jump or a tow? Describe what the car did. The smaller fix goes first.
Call (908) 666-3168Book online · $20 offOne towing company for every part of Rahway, arranged by who calls us from there
The company, the license and the $149 booking fee are identical from the Merck gates to the Colonia line; what differs is who is on the phone, which truck the dispatcher assigns, and how our driver approaches the block.
We think of Rahway by caller rather than by map, because the caller decides which truck goes. The six pages below are built that way.
Merck contractors and the East Lincoln Avenue businesses
Contractor vans, delivery trucks and employee cars around the campus, plus the shops and warehouses along East Lincoln Avenue. Medium-duty trucks from the same fleet, a driver who knows which gate to use, and an account manager who sends one invoice.
Commuters at Rahway station and the downtown restaurants
Cars dead in the station deck after a day in the city, restaurant staff on Irving Street at closing, and UCPAC crowds on show nights. Our driver knows which decks a flatbed cannot enter and brings dollies.
Route 1 fleets and the strip by the prison
Box trucks at the Lawrence Street docks, tractor-trailers on the Route 1 shoulders, the motels and gas stations near East Jersey State Prison at the Woodbridge line. Heavy-duty trucks and a driver who works Route 1 daily.
Shops and shoppers along St. Georges Avenue
Plaza lots, tire shops, the garages that call us for transfers, and cars that quit at the lights on Route 27. The shortest run we have from Linden, and the road our trucks use most.
Families on Milton Avenue, Westfield Avenue and near the hospital
Driveway no-starts, AWD SUVs on flatbeds, staff at RWJ University Hospital Rahway at shift change, and the park roads by Rahway River Park. Jump packs first, flatbeds for the all-wheel drives.
The Inman Avenue side toward Colonia and Clark
The west end of Rahway where the streets run into Colonia and Clark, Parkway Exit 135 a few minutes away, and the tows that cross a town line. Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot.
All six, plus Linden, Clark, Woodbridge, Avenel, Colonia and Carteret, are on the service-area page.
Call (908) 666-3168Full Rahway service areaWhere our trucks get called on Rahway's roads: Route 1, St. Georges Avenue, Central Avenue and the Parkway at Exit 135
Our company sends its own trucks straight to Route 1, to St. Georges Avenue, to Central, Westfield, Milton and Inman Avenues, to East Lincoln Avenue, Lawrence Street and Hazelwood Avenue, and to every other street in Rahway; the shoulders of the Parkway and the Turnpike are the Authority's authorized garages' ground, so there we meet the car at the exit or at the garage's lot.
Route 1 from the Linden line to Avenel
Rahway's east edge and its busiest road. Truck stops, loading docks, the prison strip and the lights at East Hazelwood Avenue, Lawrence Street and New Brunswick Avenue. Narrow shoulders and heavy truck traffic mean most calls are tires, rear-end hits and cars that overheated in the crawl.
St. Georges Avenue (Route 27) through the middle of town
Our road in and out. It leaves Linden, passes the shopping plazas, crosses Westfield and Milton Avenues and continues toward Colonia. Give the nearest cross street or the name of the plaza, and our driver picks the approach that keeps Route 27 moving while he loads.
Central Avenue and Parkway Exit 135
Central Avenue runs from downtown out to Clark, where it meets the Garden State Parkway at Exit 135. Cars that quit on Central Avenue or on the exit ramp's town side are direct dispatch. On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.
Westfield Avenue, Milton Avenue and the residential grid
The two long avenues carry the west side's traffic between St. Georges Avenue and the Clark line. Curb parking, school zones and sloped driveways decide how a truck gets in. Say the block and which side the car is on.
East Lincoln Avenue, Lawrence Street and East Hazelwood Avenue
The working roads of the east side: the Merck campus, the warehouses, the docks and the rail crossings. Box trucks and vans outnumber cars here, and medium-duty trucks come from the same fleet and the same dispatcher. Name the business and the gate.
Irving Street, Main Street and the station underpass
Downtown's own arteries, with the station, UCPAC, the restaurants and the municipal decks. One-way blocks and double parking on show nights. Our driver plans the approach from the corner you give him and the deck level if you are inside one.
Sitting on one of these roads at this moment? Flashers on, stand behind the guardrail, and call. The dispatcher takes it from there.
Call from the roadWhat a towing company charges in Rahway when it owns the trucks: $149 by phone, $129 online, mileage first
Booking a Rahway tow with our company costs $149 on the phone or $129 online, the miles to your chosen address are added and spoken aloud before any truck is sent, each roadside job carries one flat amount, and the hour, the day, fuel, a passenger and storage add nothing whatsoever.
When the company owns the truck there is no contractor waiting for a cut, so the fee can be flat and printed, and nobody at the curb has a motive to add a line to it.
Mileage is the only part that moves. It is counted from the spot where the car died to the door where you want it, which is why the dispatcher asks for the destination first and lets you change it while you are still talking.
| What | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Booking fee by phone | $149 | Dispatch and hook-up, any hour |
| Booking fee online | $129 | $20 off when you book it yourself |
| Mileage to your destination | Quoted on the call | Before the truck moves. You pick the shop. |
| Jump start · tire · lockout · fuel | One flat price each | No mileage. Tried first when it can solve it. |
| Winch or dollies | Only if the car will not roll | Named before the work, you decide |
| Night, weekend, holiday, fuel surcharge | None | 3 a.m. costs what 3 p.m. costs |
| Storage or release fee | None | The car goes to your shop, not a yard |
The three things that change the total
How far: two miles to a St. Georges Avenue garage is a small number, forty miles to a Morris County dealer is a bigger one. What it is: an electric car or an all-wheel drive has to go on a flatbed, and a flatbed is dearer to run than a wheel-lift under an ordinary front-wheel-drive sedan. What shape it is in: if it rolls and steers it is on the truck in minutes, and if it has been in water or in a crash it may need winching or dollies, which the driver prices before he starts.
The lines that will never be on our receipt
There is no rate for nights, none for weekends, none for holidays, and no fuel line riding on top of the miles.
The passenger seat is free. A car dropped at the address you gave is never charged storage, and a release fee cannot exist where there is no lot.
The whole list is on the pricing page.
Ask for the total. It costs nothing to ask, it does not depend on which truck comes, and it is the same at 2 a.m.

Call (908) 666-3168Plain-text facts pageWhat Rahway drivers want to know about a towing company before they hand over the keys
The short version: our trucks, our drivers, a license and a policy behind them, a price you hear before anything is dispatched, a monthly invoice for shops and fleets, and no membership of any kind.
Are you an actual towing company in Rahway, or a website that passes my call along?
An actual company. The trucks sleep in our own yard in Linden, eight minutes from Rahway, the people driving them are on our payroll, and whoever answers (908) 666-3168 is a company dispatcher with our whole fleet on a screen in front of her. Nobody buys or resells your call.
Where is your yard, and how long does it take a truck to reach Rahway from there?
Linden, the town immediately north, reached by St. Georges Avenue or Route 1. Count a few minutes to the Route 27 plazas, about eight to the station, slightly more to Inman Avenue. There is no Rahway storefront because the truck goes to the car, not the other way round.
What does licensed and insured mean when your company says it?
It means the state has licensed these trucks to tow and an insurer covers whatever is on their decks. It also means our driver takes photographs of your car going on and coming off, so any question later is settled from a picture instead of an argument.
What does a tow in Rahway cost with your company?
$149 to book by phone, $129 if you book online, and the mileage to whatever address you give, read to you before the truck is sent. A jump, a tire change, a lockout or a fuel drop is a single flat amount. The pricing page shows the whole thing.
Who is the person that turns up with the truck?
One of our drivers, in one of our trucks, with our name on the door. You hear from the dispatcher which truck was assigned, then from the driver when he is a few minutes away and again when he can see you.
How quickly can your truck get to me in Rahway?
Leaving the yard, St. Georges Avenue and the Route 1 lights are minutes away and downtown is roughly eight. Most hours a truck is already somewhere in Rahway, at Merck, on Route 1 or near the station, and the dispatcher quotes your wait from that truck's real location.
Can your company tow inside the Merck campus on East Lincoln Avenue?
Yes. Name the gate you entered by and where the vehicle is parked, and our driver presents himself to security when he arrives. Contractors and vendors who are on the campus week after week hold an account and settle it once a month.
My car will not start in the parking deck at Rahway station. Is that a tow?
Probably not. A car that sat all day while you were in the city usually just needs a jump, and that is what our driver tries first at one flat amount. If the battery is beyond saving he adds the tow on the spot, and he brings dollies for the levels a flatbed cannot get into.
Something missing? Ask the dispatcher. She has probably heard it this week.
Call (908) 666-3168The full FAQ pageSearching "towing company near me" in Rahway? Here is what near means when the company owns the trucks
The nearest towing company to you in Rahway is one with a truck already in town and a dispatcher who can see it; ours cover Rahway at every hour from a yard eight minutes away, and the arrival window you hear is measured from the closest truck's actual position.
"Towing company near me" hides three separate questions: which truck is nearest, whether the company behind it exists, and what the bill will be. A broker settles the first by auction and makes up the other two.
We settle all three by looking at one screen: the truck's position, the driver's name, and the fleet's single price list.
Near St. Georges Avenue and the Linden line
The shortest run in Rahway for us. The plazas, the garages and the lights on Route 27 north of Westfield Avenue sit a few minutes beyond the yard gate, and one of our trucks rolls through them nearly every hour.
Near Route 1, Merck and the east side
Route 1 runs straight from Linden into Rahway's east side. A truck is often already at a Lawrence Street dock or on East Lincoln Avenue when the call comes, which is why the dispatcher quotes from where the truck is rather than from the yard.
Near the station, Irving Street and downtown
The station, UCPAC, city hall and the restaurants sit in the middle of town. St. Georges Avenue and Central Avenue bring the truck in; say the corner and the side of the street, or the deck and the level.
Near Inman Avenue, the hospital and the Clark line
The far edge of Rahway from the yard, out Westfield or Milton Avenue toward Colonia and Clark. Still a short drive, and a truck finishing a job downtown is usually closer than one leaving Linden.
Whichever of our trucks is nearest to you in Rahway, the dispatcher can see it and tell you the minutes.
